RAJAN SHAHI has since childhood, been associated with the film industry due to his maternal grandfather, veteran film actor Mr.P.JAIRAJ (who received DadaSaheb Phalke Puraskaar in 1982). With film in his genes, it was inevitable that Rajan would enter the entertainment industry. In 1994, Rajan joined Producer Mr.RAVI RAI as a Director, and was actively involved in the famous serials Sailaab and Thoda Hai Thode Ki Jaroorat Hai.
Rajan Shahi directed his first independent show "DIL HAI KI MANTA NAHI" in 1999 and has subsequently directed hit shows like "JASSI JAISI KOI NAHI", "HAMARE TUMHARE", "RISHTEY", "KAREENA KAREENA", "RETH”, "MAMTAA", "MILLEE", "VIRASAAT", "SAATHI RE" and many more. He also worked as a series director for “GHAR KI LAXMI BETIYAAN”, “MAAYAKA” and "SATH PHERE".
DIRECTOR'S KUT PRODUCTION runs on the philosophy of "Do your best, your very best and do it every day". As the Founder and Promoter of Director's Kut Production, Rajan administers and manages the company, playing a pivotal role in Pre-Production, and is actively involved in the Shooting and Post- Production. As a technician and creative person he is also involved in all the departments and his extremely professional set up has played a large hand in the success his productions garner.
In 2007, Rajan Shahi opened his own Production House "DIRECTOR'S KUT PRODUCTION" and turned producer with his HIT show "SAPNA BABUL KI BIDAAI" aired on STAR PLUS, followed by numerous successful shows across various channels. Namely "YEH RISHTA KYA KEHLATA HAI" on STAR PLUS, "SWARG" on COLORS , "CHAND CHUPA BADAL MEIN" on STAR PLUS , "HAWAN" on COLORS, " JAMUNA PAAR" on IMAGINE TV, "KUCH TO LOG KAHENGE" on SONY TV , "AMRIT MANTHAN" on LIFE OK, AUR PYAAR HO GAYA on ZEE TV, a Telefilm "TERI MERI LOVE STORY" on STAR PLUS,"ITTI SI KHUSHI" on SONY and ''TERE SHEHER MEIN'' on STAR PLUS.
